Artwork by Don Krotee

Across the rooftops on the north side of Goldenrod, south of Seaview, it is possible to see the sunset and this amazing rooftop view. Of late, I can hear the crash of the surf at the Wedge if the south swell accommodates, and the glistening spray can heave upward from the shore break. The plumes of water can show white against the dark ultramarine blue of the bay. There is the Wedge, where it joins the rock groin, welcoming sea traffic in and out of Lower Newport Harbor. The impressionist watercolor was painted in the studio on Fabriano 300# paper and is 15 1/2” x 15 1/2”. (Photo credit: Bill and Jinx Hansen)
